‘They are moving in right direction at right time’: Dale Steyn predicts IPL 2021 final winner

While Dhoni and Co are gearing up for their 9th finale in the history of the tournament, Kolkata qualified for the final after a gap of 7 years.

Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are set to lock horns in an epic final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Dubai on Friday. While Dhoni and Co are gearing up for their 9th finale in the history of the tournament, Kolkata qualified for the final after a gap of 7 years.

CSK’s performance since the beginning of the season has been excellent. Unlike the previous edition, Dhoni & Co maintained themselves in the top three of the points table. However, KKR had a different story.

During the India leg, they were in the bottom half of the points table with 2 wins. But after coming to the United Arab Emirates, he made a great comeback and now he is ready for the big final.

Meanwhile, experts have started speculating on the winner of IPL 2021. Former South African pacer Dale Steyn has suggested that CSK will claim the trophy again while KKR’s luck and ‘bad decisions’ will be with them.

“I’ve always played numbers. It’s like going to a casino. If it lands on black 10 times in a row then at some point red is going to hit. I think at some point KKR’s luck will catch up to them. Poor judgment and Morgan and DK’s lack of form are things they like. It almost happened tonight and it could have happened at the worst time and this is the final,” Steyn told ESPNcricinfo.

“CSK looking good, really cool. Looks like they are heading in the right direction at the right time. Dhoni looked good that night, he captained his team well. Their batsmen are looking good… I think KKR can come up against a better side in the final.”

KKR and CSK have faced each other on 27 occasions. Super Kings have won 17 games including both in IPL 2021. However, it is an interesting fact that Knight Riders have a 100 per cent winning record in IPL finals, securing the trophy in 2012 and 2014.
