Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad believes that Pakistan’s match against India will be a crucial encounter for them in the T20 World Cup and a challenge for the Babar Azam-led side. But he believes that despite India being a strong opponent, Pakistan still has a chance if everyone contributes equally in the match.
Two of cricket’s biggest rivals – India and Pakistan – will face off in a much-anticipated clash in the T20 World Cup to be held on October 24. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since India defeated Pakistan in the 2019 ODI World Cup.
Speaking in an interview on GEO TV, Miandad said that Pakistan needs to play without any fear against India to give themselves the best chance.
He said, “The match against India will be important to gain momentum in the tournament. They are a strong side and they have many top players but if we can play without any fear and pressure and everyone does their part So we can beat them.”
Miandad said, “T20 format is one where people think one or two players can win you matches, but I see it in a way that everyone needs to contribute in some way or the other in this format so that Let a team be the winner.” .
“In this format, a short innings of 20 runs or a crucial catch or a run out or even a good over can win you a match, so everyone has to play their part. This format is all about the team’s collective effort,” he said. .
