Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee supported Indiato reach the finals of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The great pacer, however, wants Australia to win the World Cup and believes this is the best chance for the Aaron Finch-led side to win the coveted trophy. “I have backed KL Rahul to score the most runs in the competition. I think KL Rahul coming out of a great IPL is the pillar that people can build around him as it puts pressure on Kohli. If Rahul is scoring runs. It allows Kohli to just play his natural game,” Foxsports.com.au quoted Lee as saying.

“And of course with Kohli and the captaincy, this is probably his last crack, so he would like to go on a high. India will definitely be one of the top picks and can definitely win this thing. I am very patriotic. Well, I want Australia to win and I think they can, but India will definitely be in the final and I think Australia have their best chance.”

India will take on Pakistan in their opening match of the T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium on October 24.

India, champions in the inaugural edition played in South Africa in 2007 and the final in 2014, will also have Afghanistan, New Zealand and two qualifiers from Round 1 to participate in Group 2.

The ICC T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman will begin on October 17, with the finals to be played in Dubai on November 14.
