Ace Indian athlete, Hima Das has tested positive for COVID at the age of 21, announced on Wednesday.
Das took to Twitter and wrote: “I would like to inform everyone that I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I am stable and currently in isolation. I am using this time to recover and more than ever.” Looking forward to doing what I can to get stronger. A gentle reminder for everyone to stay safe and wear a mask.”
After failing to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, the 2018 Under-20 world champion in the 400m took a short break to heal his hamstring injury.
Hima suffered a hamstring injury while running in the 100m heat of the National Inter-State Athletics Championships in June.
Hima Das was in good shape for the Olympics at the Federation Cup in March and clocked 23.21s, missing the 200m Olympic qualifying mark in 22.80s.
