The Hero Motosports team concluded its Rally du Maroc (Rally of Morocco) campaign with a top-10 finish in the overall rankings.
Joaquim Rodrigues, who won the prologue stage, was awarded eighth place in the overall ranking.
“It was a good rally for me and I am really happy with my performance. All the teams here are testing for Dakar and our bikes are doing well against the competition,” Rodrigues said in a media release.
Franco Cami achieved two top-5 stages during the rally. However, the technical problems he faced in the first stages cost him a good overall finish. He finished 13th riding a measured stage 5.
“This race taught me a lot, and some technical difficulties too. From here on out, we’ll continue to work on solutions together and prepare for the biggest race of the year, the Dakar Rally,” said Cami.
Sebastian Bühler finished in the top-10 in this final leg of the rally. However, he too had earlier lost a place in the overall rankings due to his technical issues. The highlight of the rally for him was his resurgence to finish second in Stage 3.
Stage 5 of the rally, initially scheduled to run for 290 km, was shortened to 166 km. In total, during the rally, the competitors covered a race distance of 1500 km.
With the completion of the Rally du Maroc, the teams have now set their eyes on the 44th edition of the Dakar Rally, which is set to begin on January 2 in Hal, Saudi Arabia.
