Delhi Capitals team of extraordinary warriors ended due to heartbreak: Pant after IPL exit

Delhi Capitals Captain Rishabh Pant On Thursday, he said he was proud of his team and described his teammates as “extraordinary warriors” despite being ruled out of the IPL after a close loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2.

Delhi suffered a three-wicket loss, largely undone by a groundbreaking batting performance, which left KKR in the chase with just 135 runs on the board.

Delhi fought hard with the ball but KKR gave home the lead at the loss of five for seven with a ball to spare.

“It ended last night with heartbreak, but I could not be more proud to lead this team of extraordinary warriors. We fought hard throughout the season and we missed a few days, but we always gave our 100 percent.

“To the owners, management, employees, my teammates and most importantly, our ardent fans, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all made this season special. We will come back stronger.”

Two-time champions KKR will face three-time winners Chennai Super Kings in the final to be held in Dubai on Friday.
